Preparing pupils to cope with disasters in the school environment with help of edtech!

First of all, what is Edtech? A learning system based on formalised teaching but with the help of electronic resources is mostly known as E-learning.

While teaching can be based in or out of the classrooms, the use of computers and the Internet forms the major component of E-learning. Second of why is E-learning and edtech important in a crisis?

Reasons of having edtech

In the past decade, weather disasters have caused huge damages and led to the loss of many lives. Several disasters are continuous occurrences, such as drought, flood and earthquakes. Other disasters are caused by man-made activities- such as explosions, gas leaks and toxic fumes. The various types of disasters can cause injuries, death, property loss and transportation problems. Many people have lost their homes, cars and businesses after hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. Disaster preparedness is a necessity to avoid getting affected or losing valuable assets in such situations./p>

When a natural disaster strikes, schools must quickly transform into safe environments for students. First, teachers should assign homework to ensure that students have something to do during the lockdown period. Teachers should also make sure that all dangerous materials are secured in cabinets. After that, they can assign students tasks that require hand-eye coordination to minimize students' access to dangerous items. Teachers should also lock cupboards and other storage units where students may hide items. All teachers should wear safety gear when performing tasks at school. During a disaster, all safety measures will be designed to ensure the safety of students- not to endanger them themselves.

After a disaster strikes, schools can use edtech to prepare for hazardous situations at school. Using edtech in the classroom is beneficial for several reasons. First, it helps teachers organize and manage lessons during class time. This saves time and reduces stress for teachers as they recover from a disaster area. It also helps parents keep track of their children's homework assignments while they're away from school. Edtech can also help staff members identify and address behavioral issues with children. This information can be shared with parents so they can deal with problematic children at their home base. Essentially, edtech allows schools to function more efficiently without compromising student safety or security.

Schools can use edtech to inform students and parents in a crisis situation. After a natural disaster strikes, schools can use edtech to inform parents about the situation at school and inform students about the plans for meals and recess periods. In this way, schools help families cope with stressful situations while focusing on the needs of the students. This plan is especially useful during summer vacation when schools are most frequently hit by natural disasters.

Disaster preparedness should include both individual and collective measures to ensure the safety of students and teachers in times of crisis. Schools can use edtech to help them respond to emergencies at school- both during class time and during an emergency situation outside of class times. Edtech is especially useful for informing families about school conditions during times of crisis.
